Edible Arrangements' Fruit Parfait and Sanya's All You Can Eat Korean BBQ

This is what I had for breakfast today: Strawberry and Pineapple Parfait  by Edible Arrangements. I thought they only sell baskets and bouquets of chocolate strawberries and fruits. I found out today that they also sell fruit smoothies, fruit salad, fruit sundaes and parfaits. There's one in a small corner plaza/subway station of Wilshire and Western (L.A. California). I think a lot of people miss it because it's kind'a hidden in the very corner. I didn't even know they had a store there, until I got a fruit sample the other day while waiting for my bus. By the way, the lady who worked there had the nicest, warmest, most genuine customer service I've had in a long time ^_^. She and my parfait made my morning so lovely.

This photo was taken with my iPhone. Not bad huh?

I'm usually not a big fan of pineapples, but this one was really good. It was super sweet.

The parfait was the only thing I ate the whole day (and water of course) because I was saving my appetite for this: Sanya's All You Can Eat Korean BBQ for $9.99. My facebook/blogger friend Angel recommended me this place. I'm a sucker for All You Can Eat restaurants, so I just had to go.

I went with my friends Morris, Grace and Monica. They're my eating buddies.

We got beef brisket, pork belly and marinated beef.

In comparison to Tahoe Galbi's $9.99 All You Can Eat, this places was just ok. The service was not terrible nor great. They forgot to ask us for drinks O_o. The quality of meat was about the same, but I wished they had more Banchan (sides). But every restaurant is not the same, so it's ok. Other than that, it's a good place to take your friends and family for an affordable Korean BBQ.

Dinner: Store Bought Shrimp Tempura ^_^

We had store bought Shrimp Tempura for dinner. I guess we could have made it ourselves, but nah...It's too much work. All I did was took it out of the box, placed it on a baking sheet, popped it in the oven for 18 minutes and it's done! It crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It was delicious with steamed white rice and the dipping sauce that came with the box. Good dinner!

We baked it in the oven.

$3 Nachos at the Ice Cream Truck

This is the $3 Nachos I bought at the Ice Cream truck by my house. It used to be $1 back in high school which was ancient years ago haha. I love ice cream trucks in L.A. They not only sell ice cream, but they sell hot food like nachos, chili cheese hotdogs and even pig's feet as well haha.

It's watered down chili and cheese with jalapenos lol. Nasty goodness!

The Best Things in Life are Free..

...especially when it's free food. My aunt's friend neighbor, who owns a catering company gave her a bunch of food left over from an event. She couldn't possibly eat all of it by herself, so she gave some to us. Food makes me excited in general, but free food makes me do cartwheels and do the happy dance. I didn't have to cook dinner that night.

Ricotta Cheese Crepes with Berries and Orange Reduction on the side.

Quinoa Salad with Goat Cheese and Yellow Peppers

Wholewheat Penne Alfredo

So what's missing? MEAT!!! It's all vegetarian food lol. But I didn't mind it. It was still good except for the Wholewheat Penne Alfredo. It didn't taste anything at all lol.

Cabo Cantina and Sephora

It's been awhile since I've been out, so I called two of my very good friends to hangout. We went to Downtown Santa Monica Thrird Street Promenade. Initially, I planned a nice quiet dinner at a nice restaurant, but tell me why we ended up at Cabo Cantina, a Mexican themed sports bar with the loudest music and had the most fattening Mexican food? It was still fun though. We were able to catch up and laugh with each other as we stuffed our faces.

Chicken Nachos. Man, it looks really gross in the photo, but it was really good. Well, anything with guac and sour cream is good ^_^

Morris had the Grilled Steak Burrito. This boy can't really eat. I ended up eating half of his burrito haha. It tasted like the nachos, but without the chicken and tortilla chips haha.

Chicken and Green Salsa Sliders. Chopped roasted chicken with salsa verde on pan dulce. These were really good, and I'm thinking or recreating it at home.

Afterwards, we killed time window shopping, and we stopped by Sephora. This is my friend Grace testing the  Illamasqua nail polishes. She was shocked when I showed her the price. They're $14!!!

And of course, I had to test my makeup skills on Morris. I primed his face with MUFE green face primer to get rid of the redness on his face, and I evened out his skin tone with Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer. Man makeup!

I also did a subtle smoky eyes on Grace. She has the most beautiful eyes! I started with a bronze base and topped it off with a shimmery grey eye shadow :)

Finished Look! She loved it!

We also went to Old Navy and Morris was acting a fool haha. He's so funny. Can you spot him in the photo? I bet you can't!

Sushi Delight...Lobster Roll and etc..

Remember when I took Kiko at Sushi Delight for his birthday last year? Click HERE to read about it. Well, ever since then, this place became our new favorite sushi joint. The restaurant is cozy, the food is fresh, delicious and affordable and the service is always great!

Here are some photos from our recent visit. We were mad craving some fatty and delicious sushi rolls!

Lobster Roll. It was very rich and heavy because of all the sauces. But we still enjoyed it.
In: crab, avocado and shrimp tempura
Out: lobster, mushroom with dynamite sauce, masago, unagi sauce, tempura flakes and green scallions.

Shrimp Tempura Roll
In: crab, avocado, cucumber and shrimp tempura
Out: tempura flakes and unagi sauce.

Californina Tempur Roll. Deep California roll drizzled in dynamite sauce. This is  one of our favorites. It's hot and creamy!

I love a menu with lots of photos.

Ostrich Burgers and 'Y' Not Burger...Never Again!

Kiko and I had out first Ostrich burger and it was a big disappointment. We had it at  'Y' Not Burger, a small mom and pop burger joint in Torrance, Ca. Initially, we were just craving cheese burgers, but when we saw Ostrich burger on the menu, we felt a little adventurous and immediately changed our minds.

Will it taste like chicken, beef or what? We were a bit anxious as we waited for our orders to come. Once we got our food, we took a bite, had a sip of water and coke, a minute of weird silence, then looked at each other and both made a face O_o. The burger was really nasty. It tasted like a really bad hamburger. The meat was very tough and no flavor at all. The mayo and other fixings didn't even help to boost the flavor. I don't know much about game meats, but I thought it would have been better if they put salt or seasoning or some type of creative sauce in the burger to really disguise the gaminess of the meat. Bad burger...Never again!

It doesn't even look good in photos O_o

The only good thing about the meal were the french fries. It was hot, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I almost ate them all.

I'm sure they have good food because they had traffic going in and out of the restaurant. But Kiko was convinced that we shouldn't come here agin...ever! I agree ^_^
