First meal of 2011...Red Lobster

Expect a lot of late post since I've neglected this blog for long time. I still have tons of food pics to share that I haven't even uploaded in my laptop  O_o. Anyway, this post is about my first meal with Kiko this 2011. We went on a cute date a couple of days after new year's day. We ate at Red Lobster. I picked this place because of their yummy Cheddar Baked Biscuits and that's it lol. I don't really like their food but omgaahhh, I love their biscuits! Kiko could care less where we eat, but he did try to convince me to eat somewhere else lol.

So we started off with the house salad. They put too much ranch dressing O_o.


Free Cheddar Baked Biscuits were the only reason why I forced my Kiko to eat here lol. These cheesy and garlicy biscuits were so addicting!


Kiko had the Admiral's Feast , a big plate of fried shrimp, bay scallops, sole and clam strips. Kiko liked it but he wished he didn't order big plate of fried food. He said it was too much fried food for him lol.


I got the Shrimp Alfredo. It was okay, nothing special lol.


And the photos below were the food we ordered last time Kiko and I ate at Red Lobster. I don't remember their names, but I know they were only available for a limited time.

Engagement Party/Potluck/Karaoke

My good friend Kevin recently got engaged with his girlfriend in the Philippines. Everyone was so happy and excited for him that we decided to throw a mini engagement potluck/party/karaoke for him...at his place lol. We invited close friends and co-workers to come and hangout. We didn't have any theme for the party but we did ask people if they could bring food, snacks, drinks or whatever they can for everyone to share. You know a party is not a party without food...well at least the ones I plan gotta have food ^_^




So I made this vegetarian spaghetti and tomato sauce. It was weird making it without meatballs or ground beef but I had to make it with no meat because a vegetarian friend of mine was coming. The sauce is made with crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, roasted mushrooms, spinach and lots of garlic. I also mixed in a block of cream cheese to give it a cheesy creamy taste. It turned out pretty good. My friends did miss the meat but they said it was still good so I believe them!





What made it even better was the shredded cheddar cheese on top. I know it's weird, but it was Kevin's idea lol.


My bestfriend Monica made fresh salsa. I stopped her from putting too many jalapenos coz I don't like it too hot lol. She also put cucumbers to replace onions because she doesn't like onions haha.


My friend Ingrid brought this veggie platter with ranch dressing from the grocery store. These were good to snack on and the ranch dressing was really good and didn't taste like regular ranch lol. It had bacon bits in it. Yeah, making it super extra fatty but good lol.


She also brought this fruit platter ^_^


Kevin took out his cheese trio with triscuit. I forgot the brand but it had 3 kinds of cheeses and, I remember the pink one had port wine in it. It was sweet!


One of Kevin's friends brought this chocolate cake from Albertsons (grocery store). Albertsons makes really good cakes, trust me! It was really moist, soft and delicious!



A lot of people came and, it didn't seem like we had enough food but we were able to make it work. We ate, ate and ate and did Karaoke all night long. Congratulations Kevin!

The Boiling Crab is in L.A!!!!

Finally, The Boiling Crab is in L.A!!! It opened on Martin Luther King day and, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it. This restaurant is a family fav and we usually have to drive all the way to Alhambra (which is an hour away with traffic) and wait for 2-3 hours just to get a taste of this seafood deliciousness! Now, it's only minutes away from our house and we can enjoy it anytime we want. I have a feeling I'll be coming here a lot lol.

So one day after work, I went and got some shrimp to go. I got 2 lbs of shrimp with the "whole shabang!" meaning it has cajun seasoning, buttter, lime, garlic and everything. My mom and I shared it and it was sooo amazing, I tell you! It's been awhile since we've had it and we enjoyed every bit of head sucking, finger licking shrimpin' goodness!
