Dinner: Tinolang Manok/ Ginger and Onion Chicken Soup

My mom cooks all kinds of funky and weird stuff, Andrew Zimmern of Bizarre Foods should come over my house and eat. We had Chicken Tinola for dinner. It's a traditional Filipino dish, a ginger and onion based chicken soup with green papaya wedges and chili pepper leaves. It simmers and cooks low and slow to bring out all the natural flavors. It's seriously the best chicken soup you'll ever taste.

Besides chicken, my mom added some weird looking chicken eggs, chicken uterus, liver and gizzard. Yum???

Best served with steamed white rice.

Here is a recipe from Panlasang Pinoy.
