Thanksgiving 2010

I love my turkey!!! And it's one of the my favorite things about Thanksgiving. Of course I love the fact that I get to spend time with my family but you know Becky GOTS to EATS ^_^. So this year we made sure we had a good Thanksgiving feast. My aunt was in charge of cooking the turkey and beef ribs, my cousin made Green Bean Casserole, which was actually our first time having it for Thanksgiving, thanks to an episode on the "History of Thanksgiving" on History channel lol. I was in charge of the chips and dip and as always, I made my super delicious and fatty Spinach and Artichoke dip, a recipe I got from Alton Brown's Good Eats show on Food Network years ago. It's still a hit!

My aunt managed to make the turkey so moist and delicious by using  one of those turkey oven bags from Reynolds. Season the turkey really well, stuff it (we love to use lots of lemon slices and herbs), place it inside the oven bag, tie it, throw it in the oven and forget about it lol..well not really, of course you have to time it and check on it and all that good stiff. But I liked how the turkey was cooking in its own juice and the cooking time was faster.

I probably ate more Beef Ribs with BBQ sauce than the turkey lol. It got a bit messy but it was worth it. My aunt used Gayle's Honey Sweet BBQ sauce and our favorite Bone Suckin' Sauce from Bristol Famrs. It was more expensive but man, it was worth it every penny. It was a sweet sauce which we really enjoyed.

My cousin made the Green Bean Casserole. I guess from now on were gonna have this for Thanksgiving because it was really good. It was creamy and even my nieces who doesn't really eat vegetables liked it a lot. I noticed we didn't have Stuffing which made me sad lol. I missed those Oven Top Stuffing from Kraft that we always get from the grocery store. It's so easy to make. You just add water, mix it and you're done!

And yes, this is my super delicious and fatty Spinach and Artichoke dip. I made it the night before so all the flavors can marry into each other very well. Trust me, it taste better the next day. Good thing I made a huge batch because my family ate it the next day with a toasted bagel and anchovies whhhaaa??? Yes and my aunt said it was delicious lol. I also brought some at work and my co-workers devoured it.

This is my pretty plate. Of course I stuffed my face like it was my last meal lol. I felt the effects on my body the next day but it's all worth it! Everything was perfect and delicious.

Oh and for dessert, we had a store bought Apple Pie by Sara Lee. We usually get the crumbled apple pie but they ran out at Vons. It was still good especially a la mode but I still prefer the crumbled one.

So that's it for my family Thanksgiving feast. I can't wait for Christmas because were gonna have more delicious food! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!!
